At that time, however, the Vibrolux was only available in combo format. We can assume that this amp started its life in a combo and was converted into a piggyback at some point. The circuit was modified: In the vibrato channel, the “Volume” knob functions as gain and the “Intensity” as master volume. The vibrato effect was removed as part of this modification. Now this amplifier is only a “…lux amp”, but you can get great blackface style overdrive sounds at a reasonable volume. The normal channel is unchanged in order to achieve the true “non master volume” power amp distortion. The speaker combination of a Warehouse Green Beret and a Reaper sounds fantastic for this amp.
